Intro to Blueprint Reading – 16 hours (0 CEUs)
This course is to introduce students to blueprints they will typically find on a jobsite. Students will learn where and how to use scale, overlay of drawings, how to find and read electrical symbols, keynotes, riser diagram, panel schedules, and the spec book. Students will use the “Project” cover sheet, all electrical blueprints, and the full project spec book in class. This class is approved for 16 hrs. of night school for apprentices.

Introduction to Motor Controls – 12 hours (12 CEUs)
From switches to complex PLCs, control systems are everywhere. In this introductory course on motor controls, students will develop a very basic understanding of the evolution and variety of uses in motor control. Students will learn the differences between IEC and NEMA, schematic and wiring diagrams, and the fundamentals of the holding circuit. Reading and drawing ladder diagrams will also be introduced.

Joe Hertel & Monte Ewing will be offering their unique training, practice, insight and tips on how you can pass the Wisconsin Electrical Credentialing Exams using only the 2017 NEC and the SPS 316 Wisconsin Electrical Code. This intense (2-8-hour days) session will provide the confidence you need to write the test and obtain your Master, Journeyman, or Inspectors License. Plan for this key training just before you schedule your test date for best results.

CW/CE INTRODUCTION TO THE ELECTRICAL TRADE 12 Hours / 12 CEUs
If you’re new to the electrical industry, unfamiliar with some of the specialty tools and materials and want or need to get more familiar with our ways, this class will help. From residential to commercial to industrial jobsites there are so many different aspects to the electrical field that you will spend your career learning new things. Get started right! This course is approved for 12 hours of Wisconsin State Electrical Credentialing FOR Registered Electrician license only. ALL 12 HOURS MUST BE ATTENDED FOR CREDIT.

Electrical Safety – 6 hours (6 CEUs)
Electrical Safety is a six-hour course designed to highlight and enforce safety hazards in our field as well as proper procedures to avoid them in our industry. The course will cover many aspects of safety in our field as well as a basic overview of arc flash and how to interpret safety labels to understand the proper procedures to take. This course is presented by Ted Flynn, a seasoned safety professional and owner of Safety Management & Training.
